Do not use! They took £46 out of my bank without permission and are refusing to give it back!

I've been a Publisher with MagCloud/Blurb Books since 2014; I always put them up, and referred them to my own clients, driving much traffic to their services.

Recently however, someone I personally know ordered multiple books we published together via MagCloud who is owned by Blurb.



I physically held the books in my hand.



Photos/videos were taken of us, and shared all over the world while holding these books!



The book was even featured on the BBC website.

Yet, no sales appeared on my page. So, I contacted MagCloud/Blurb via Email.


When asked, I provided screenshots of text messages to Blurb of my business associate saying she purchased the book through my affiliate link.

After several back and forth emails, getting the runaround, Blurb finally says that a sale was made but from a different email. Blurb being extra sketchy about this, said they can't provide me with the account profile page it was sold from.

Well, what if that was a different book of mine? Does that mean someone could just sell my book on a private account and Blurb would protect their privacy while stealing from me?

I only knew of this particular situation because a friend/co-worker was involved, but imagine had I not known? That means anyone can just steal other people's copy-written work; set their account page to private, profit from it, and blurb will protect them in doing so.

There needs to be some type of accountability with this! This time I didn't care as much, being it was an activism project, but the fact it could happen to any of my books with no company protection from Blurb is disturbing.

I spent 6 months creating a 120 page book of original photography, with text, using Blurb's BookWright system. I ordered a proof copy and it looked okay so I ordered 50 copies of my book at a cost of approximately $3,000.00. About 35 of the books have printing defects which look like black ink smudges on the white cover. I contacted customer service and they promptly responded, asking for photographs of the defective books. I sent the photos but unfortunately I never heard from customer service again even after sending several follow-up emails. I had no other choice but to contact my credit card company to file a dispute, I'm hoping they can help. Extremely upset and disappointed, not just with the poor quality of the printing but six months of hard work and almost $3,000 down the drain.

Ordered a portfolio from blurb 4 weeks ago, paid for express shipping and had an expected delivery date of a week, which I thought was ambitious. Turns out I was right, 4 weeks in and having spoken to customer service along the way, while being promised to have delivery sorted in the second week, it still hasn't left production. I managed to get a refund for delivery on the third week with another promise of delivery within that week, still nothing. I've ended up ordering another portfolio from elsewhere during this as what I needed it for has come and gone. completely unreliable.

I am extremely pleased with Blurb’s quality. My books and canvas always look fabulous!

My first time to have my pictures published on the front, back and inside a magazine. Then I order one to have a hard proof as a published photographer, really amazing quality, just love. In other hand you can add a fantastic customer service, fast reply and resolving a problem. I would highly recommend blurb.

It was a super fast production and blurb made it ever so easy and snappy...still waiting to see the finished hard copy, but I bet it will be awesome...a gift for someone and I am sure he will love the book. Thank you very much blurb!!

Love the quality!

If I had known producing a very high-quality publication was this simple, I would have created an art book years ago! I will definitely be using Blurb into the future.

It had been a while since I last used blurb, and/but it’s so straightforward and intuitive to use. The quality of the final product is incomparable.

very speedy delivery and good quality. Ease of use whilst using Bookwright. I have also used the Blurb Plug-In for Adobe InDesign before and that was very good.

I've now produced over 60 books through Blurb, all with loads of photos and the results have been very pleasing. The Bookwright software is easy to use and has plenty of options - one example being able to add a border with rounded corners to photos which looks so much better than just square-cornered photos. I've mainly used the large landscape format with Imagewrap covers and the resulting 'coffee-table-style' books look superb. I've more recently produced some Premium Magazine books and they are also excellent - and a great deal less expensive! When I've needed advice or help with a problem, the Blurb Support Team have been top class - responsive, professional and friendly. Overall - Blurb is great!

We did an 80th birthday photo album for our Mom. There were over 100 photos in the end. This product is easy to use, there is online help available, it arrived when promised and the final product is of excellent quality. Highly recommended.

This is my fourth time printing through Blurb and I am pretty much sold for life. As a professional photographer, I am pretty picky about the quality of the paper and how well the photos match what I see on my own monitor. However, I am NOT a graphic designer and I need help with layout options. The Bookwright software is the perfect solution and gives me lots of space for text, plus the ability to customize each page as needed. The ease of use has me inspired and motivated to print more and more of my own personal photos, rather than just keeping them on my website or hard-drive, where they rarely get viewed and enjoyed. I get my Blurb books off the shelf and enjoy them all the time!
